Barrie Minor Lacrosse Association is dedicated to promoting the sport of lacrosse. Our goals are to promote, develop, encourage and maximize fun and fair play and to provide a safe learning environment for all players and volunteers while playing organized lacrosse. We run Paperweight, Tyke, Novice and Peewee House League divisions. We try to provide House League opportunities for older players as well, however, registration numbers do not always make that possible.
House League players are on the floor for two hours per week with some exceptions (e.g. weeks with holidays). We provide an age-appropriate mix of practices and games. Full equipment as per CLA guidelines is required for all house league players. BMLA has invested significantly in goalie equipment for our House League divisions and loan it out to interested goalies at not charge.
Jr. Development aged kids will be on the floor for one hour a week, and need gloves, helmet and stick. Coaches will focus on basic skills, picking up the ball, cradling, passing, catching.
We at BMLA want to encourage community spirit, fellowship, team play, promote determination, handwork and positive life skills and to foster community involvement.
In order to assist with house league and rep lacrosse operations, we now have division convenors available to answer any questions related to your appropriate age group. They are on hand to assist in any way, so please reach out to them if you have any issues, questions or suggestions.
